Let’s clear that up
Good questions.
Straight answers.
The things people ask before making it official.
What is the total cost to form an LLC?
Our $149 service fee plus the $95 online state filing allocation totals $244. The first year of agent service and access to our guided operating agreement builder are included. Optional EIN assistance costs $75. Standard state payment surcharges are covered by our service fee.
What renews automatically?
Standalone registered agent service renews at $49 annually until canceled through Stripe billing. LLC formation and report filings are one-time services. The included first year of agent service with formation has no automatic renewal; you choose whether to continue.
How long does formation take?
Your paid application first enters our review queue. We request any missing details and then submit the filing. Indiana’s processing time varies. Payment does not mean the LLC is already approved. Follow the order in your workspace.
Can I be my own registered agent?
An eligible Indiana resident may serve as the agent if they meet the state’s requirements, including a qualifying physical registered office. The business entity itself cannot be its own agent. Consult INBiz for the specific eligibility rules.
Can I use your address for everything?
No. It is a registered office for official notices. This service does not include a virtual office, bank address, package receiving, or general mail forwarding. Other addresses may still be required in public records.
What happens when a document arrives?
Our team uploads the document to the business’s secure workspace and sends a notification. Legal notices can be flagged urgent. Open urgent documents promptly and consult your attorney when needed.
Can I get an EIN for free?
Yes. Eligible applicants can get an EIN directly from the IRS at no cost. Our optional $75 fee pays for application assistance, not an IRS charge.
Do I need an operating agreement in Indiana?
Indiana does not require an LLC operating agreement to be filed with the state, but a written agreement can define ownership, management, voting, distributions, transfers, buyouts, and dissolution instead of leaving those questions only to statutory defaults. Our $29 self-service builder lets you finish the questionnaire before paying, then edit and download the PDF. LLC formation includes access.
When should an attorney review my operating agreement?
Use an Indiana business attorney for multiple ownership classes, investor rights, vesting, unusual profit allocations, regulated businesses, complex buyouts, non-compete terms, or major custom language. A tax professional should review tax elections and allocations. Our builder covers common single- and multi-member arrangements but does not provide legal or tax advice.
Do Indiana LLCs need to file BOI?
Under FinCEN’s March 2025 interim final rule, U.S.-created entities and their beneficial owners are exempt from BOI reporting. Foreign-formed entities may have different obligations. Check current FinCEN guidance.
What if I need to cancel?
Contact support promptly about a one-time order. Unstarted work can be canceled under the service terms. Fees already paid to a government agency are generally nonrefundable. Cancel future agent renewals in billing, and arrange a replacement agent for an active entity.
Are you a law firm?
No. We provide filing and registered agent services. We do not provide legal or tax advice. A qualified lawyer or tax professional can help with entity structure, ownership arrangements, and tax elections.
